Dear Friend,
We are thrilled to announce that our recent theatre event raised over $12,000 to support
The SJM Pediatric Transplant Foundation. This year, these funds will assist approximately 50 families who have children undergoing life saving organ transplants.
On March 21st The SJM Pediatric Transplant Foundation held a private performance of the Off Broadway Musical "The New Hopeville Comics".
Because of the generosity of Commander Squish Productions and "The New Hopeville Comics" creator Nate Weida, proceeds from the March 21st event and a portion
of the shows run were donated to SJM Pediatric Transplant Foundation. Supporters of the foundation made this event a success through the purchase of tickets and private contributions.
The evening started with two "party buses" that departed from Summit headed to NYC. Beverages and light food were served on the bus to start the evening with this
spirited crowd. An early arrival allowed us to socialize during a quick visit to the neighboring Divine Bar. On to the show, the cast wowed us with their exuberant performance of this
innovative and electric Rock Opera. Post-performance, The New Hopeville Comics cast, creator and band met with the audience to talk about the show, its creation, their performances and
shared their personal theatre history.
To end the evening Steven Meyers, founding board trustee, thanked the audience and spoke about the meaningful support The SJM Pediatric Transplant Foundation provides to
needy families with a child that undergoes a life saving organ transplant. Commander Squish Production's charitable liaison, Don Weida, saluted the generosity of the cast and producer and
their decision to donate proceeds to benefit the SJM Pediatric Transplant Foundation and other non profits that were personally meaningful to the cast.
Thank you all for your support and generosity which will enable us to continue our mission.
Warmly,
Lisa and Steven Meyers
